Smart Products in our everyday life? – Sure – But what makes a product smart?
Definitely it requires Embedded Systems technology inside the product. However, consumers will never buy the Embedded System itself, but they‘ll go for the product due to its usability, user experience, intelligence, connectivity, the solution approach, … – or in short: due to its smartness.
For the manufacturer these are all important criteria. Still the basic economic questions are valid:
How to shorten the time-to-market? How to find the important innovations? How to maximize the profit? How to develop and produce the product as cost efficient as possible?
There are different ways and aspects for cost efficient design and development of Embedded Systems. And often cost savings during the design phase are in contrary to a cost efficient production setup.
Read more about optimal design to costs considerations during the Embedded Systems development in the latest article “Kostenbetrachtung in der Entwicklung (https://www NULL.slideshare NULL.net/secret/yPIJhZclXAaZhZ)” written by Peter Seidenschwang and published in the July edition of the magazine “Embedded Design (http://www NULL.embedded-design NULL.net)”.
Have you ever faced these challenges yourself during design or production of a smart product? Have you ever tried to go with such a wholistic approach for your products?
